Three ways to split your image
Choose by the number of pieces, a grid, or an exact tile size.
Equal parts
Split a photo into 2, 3, 4 or more pieces in one direction. Choose Side by side for columns or Stacked for rows. Use this for a simple split in half or a strip of images.
Grid
Set both Rows and Columns to cut your image into a grid. A 2 × 2 grid makes 4 pieces; a 3 × 3 grid makes 9. This divides one image—it does not combine several photos into a collage.
Tile size
Enter the width and height of each tile in pixels. Keep smaller edge tiles to preserve their actual size, or pad them to the requested size without stretching the image. If the dimensions divide evenly, both options give the same result.
Original illustrations show the difference between modes. For a horizontal dividing line, choose Stacked; for a vertical dividing line, choose Side by side.

When the image dimensions divide evenly, every piece has the same size. Otherwise, rows or columns can differ by one pixel so the full image is preserved, without gaps or repeated pixels.
For example, 1001 pixels split into 3 columns become 333 + 334 + 334 pixels. Original-size PNG cuts preserve decoded pixels; JPEG export re-encodes them.
Download split images on your phone or computer
- Prepare the files. Select Prepare ZIP, then use the download link when it is ready. For just one piece, choose its tile below the workspace and use the individual download link.
- Open the ZIP. Find it in your browser’s downloads or your device’s Files app, then extract it. The ZIP contains the separate images; it is not itself a photo. Saving extracted images to Photos depends on your device and browser.
- Check before sharing. Confirm the number of files and open a few pieces. Ordinary cuts use row and column filenames; Instagram tools use their own numbered publishing order.
PNG or JPG? Under Export settings, choose PNG to keep transparent areas and preserve decoded pixels in original-size cuts. JPG re-encodes the image and replaces transparency with your selected background. Neither format adds detail that was not in the source.
Your original file is unchanged. Download your results before refreshing or switching tools: your working image is not stored.

Does my image leave my device?
No. Your image is decoded and processed in your browser. It is not sent to a server. Refreshing the page clears your working image.
How do I split an image into 2, 3, or 4 parts?
Choose Equal parts, select a number, then choose Side by side or Stacked. For four squares, choose a 2 × 2 grid instead.
Will splitting reduce image quality?
PNG export without resizing preserves the decoded image pixels. JPEG re-encodes the image and may change its quality. Browser color handling can differ from professional image editors.
What happens when the size cannot be divided evenly?
The full image is preserved. Some tiles differ by one pixel. Fixed-size mode keeps the smaller edge tiles, or pads them without stretching.
How do I save the images on my phone?
Download a ZIP and open it in your Files app, or prepare an individual tile and use its download link. Saving to Photos depends on your browser and device.
