THE IMAGE SPLITTER NOTEBOOK

Instagram Carousel Size Guide

Choose Instagram carousel slide dimensions and calculate a continuous canvas, with diagrams and a linked carousel splitter.

Platform reference checked September 9, 2026. Profile and publishing behavior still require real-device testing.

5 × 1080 = 5400 px wide · 1350 px high. Add slides 01–05 to one post, in order.

Every slide uses the same size

For a continuous image, all exported slides must use one ratio and one height. This version supports square 1080 × 1080 and portrait 1080 × 1350 slides. Additional publishing ratios require channel-specific testing.

Calculate your continuous canvas

Multiply the width of one slide by your slide count. Five portrait slides require a 5400 × 1350 canvas. The height stays constant: only the width grows.

Check the seams before publishing

Use the swipe preview and inspect subjects near each cut. Add the images to a single post in slide_01, slide_02 order. Avoid individual crops or filters that would break the shared image. Instagram’s help page describes up to 20 items; third-party publishers may differ.
